I Pledge To Maintain an Efficient and Responsible government.

As a successful business owner, I recognize the value of leadership, accountability and budgeting for results. Managing large teams has honed my decision-making and resource management skills, essential for effective city leadership. My experience in collaboration equips me to unite people, solve problems, and foster growth. As mayor, I will implement these principles to ensure Santa Clara thrives economically and as a united community.

  • Explore opportunities to lower bond debt service.

  • Actively continue the present course to expedite city debt reduction to become a “pay as you go” city for future projects begun by Mayor Rosenberg and fellow city council members. This has worked well with projects on Vineyard Drive and the Crestview Drive Irrigation Line.

  • Avoid additional debt. Public funds must be used responsibly and efficiently.  Paying interest should be avoided whenever possible. This means more money for future city projects rather than paying interest.

  • Expand pressurized irrigation systems to reduce culinary use and allow homeowners to water their yards with less expensive untreated water.

  • Continue development in commercial districts. This will continue to increase sales tax revenue while lowering the tax burden on residents.

  • Continue a strong partnership with Ivins in Police, Fire and EMS. Public safety is crucial for a safe thriving city.

  • Create long-term solutions for increased cemetery demands.

  • Strongly advocate for a greater role for Santa Clara on the Western Corridor Roadway. This will have a positive impact by taking traffic pressure from Santa Clara Drive and Pioneer Parkway.

  • Use knowledge and experience of water details to advocate for conservation and development opportunities. Work with WCWCD, Santa Clara Public works and neighboring cities to assure sustainability into the future.

I Pledge To Preserve our Historic Community.

I love this community for its history, its stories, and the unique character that makes it feel like home. Through my own experience restoring and renovating old architecture, I’ve learned how important it is to preserve the past while still making room for the future. As mayor, I’ll work to make sure the heart of our community—the history that defines us—remains strong and protected for generations to come.

  • Protect historic downtown area with opportunities such as historic grants and easements that invest more money to attract small niche businesses into this district.

  • Work with the Santa Clara Historical Society and Heritage Commission on a comprehensive plan for Heritage Square

  • Work to preserve open space and existing agricultural space through conservation easements.  These areas include the lava fields near Pioneer Parkway and existing agricultural land. This program protects the agriculture uses into the future.

  • First-hand experience in restoring and reopening an historic building at the Homestead Resort.

  • First-hand experience in land and open space conservation easements.

I Pledge to Explore recreational opportunities within the city.

  • Develop and expand recreational opportunities including the splash pad, skate park, additional pickle ball and expansion of trails with neighboring cities.

  • Strengthen partnerships with the State of Utah for recreational opportunities at the new Graveyard wash Reservoir site.

  • Explore Recreation and Public Purpose opportunities on adjacent federal lands.
