Ben has been a proud resident of Santa Clara for the past 27 years. A graduate of Dixie High School, Class of 1992, he went on to earn the rank of Eagle Scout and later served an LDS mission in Caracas, Venezuela from 1993 to 1995. Ben attended the Dixie College plumbing apprenticeship program, becoming a master plumber and later an instructor at Dixie Tech, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of tradesmen. In 1995, he married longtime Santa Clara native Tawni Tuttle, and together they have built a strong family over the past 30 years. They are the proud parents of four children—three married and one engaged—and they enjoy their growing family with one grandchild and two more on the way. 

 

He is Co-Owner of Tom’s Mechanical, a commercial plumbing and mechanical company with over 50 employees in Washington County, and is a licensed plumbing contractor in eight Western states. Ben is also Co-Owner Shakespeare Development, a local residential and commercial development company. In addition to his professional career, Ben has dedicated much of his time to public service and community involvement. He is currently completing his second term (8 years) on the Santa Clara City Council and currently serving as Mayor Pro-Tem (Vice Mayor), where he has built strong working relationships with leaders at the local, county, state, and federal levels. He has given back to youth sports through 12 years of service with Snow Canyon Little League, including five years as president, and continues to serve the region as vice chair of the Washington County Flood Control Authority.
